Plant A Seedling For A Healthier World

In honor of our founder's late father, ThomasBoston Advertising sponsors the Ted Lanen
Green Legacy
program.

A first step to a better world.Ted (born Teuvo Liimatainen) was a registered Professional Engineer (Tufts - EE, NROTC), and the former owner of Leo C. Pelkus Inc., a manufacturer's rep for Edwin L. Wiegand (now Emerson Heating Systems) and Chromalox®.

An avid outdoorsman and wood sculptor, he was also an prayerful optimist about the future of humankind.

ThomasBoston donates a percentage of its profits from any given project to the Arbor Day Foundation in the name of its client. The ADF plants native pine, fir and cedar trees in the Plumas National Forest, which is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California.

"Growth comes in many forms, tangible and beyond. For example, the simple planting of a tree yields a remarkable return. Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can generate $31,250 of oxygen, provide $62,000 worth of air pollution control, recycle $37,500 worth of water, and control $31,500 worth of soil erosion. That’s a total of $162,250 for one tree, and over $1.6 million for ten!,"* states ThomasBoston's Tom Lanen. "And then there's the beauty of the forest. Ted taught me natural design is what connects us, it makes us care."
