To mark the occasion of going live with Quebrada Baking Co.'s new website, ThomasBoston Advertising will have trees planted in the business's name via its Ted Lanen Green Legacy program.

It may not save the world, but it's a step in the right directionTom Lanen, ThomasBoston's President & Creative Director, presented Kay Wiggin, Owner of Quebrada Baking Co., with a certificate certifying that 52 native pine, fir and cedar trees will be planted in the Plumas National Forest in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

"This is a simple acknowledgment of Kay's investment in her business, and its growth. And growth comes in many forms, both tangible and beyond. For example, planting of a tree yields a remarkable return. Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can generate $31,250 of oxygen, provide $62,000 worth of air pollution control, recycle $37,500 worth of water, and control $31,500 worth of soil erosion. That’s a total of $162,250 for one tree, and over $1.6 million for ten!,"* states Tom. "And then there's the beauty of the forest. Ted, an avid outdoorsman and wood sculptor by avocation taught me natural design is what connects us, it's what makes us care."

Checkout Quebrada baking Co.'s new websiteQuebrada (say "Kay-bra-da") Baking Co., now in its 33rd year as a neighborhood bakery in East Arlington, and its 26th in Wellesley Hills, assigned the revamping of its website (the new site is the bakery's second site) to Tom Lanen of ThomasBoston. The goal of the site is to help customers better understand and envision the breadth and depth of its breakfast baked goods, breads, cakes and petite desserts. It will also help them visualize and order custom decorated cakes and cupcakes, as well plated assortments and catering options available, and encourage calls to the bakery's staff for friendly assistance and attention. "The site's design from palette to imagery is very much influenced by what I've has come to know as 'Kay's Style,' her ideas that in summary define her personal and business brands."

Tom Lanen partnered with Newfangled, a web development company with whom he's collaborated to create several sites. Tom executed strategic and user experience planning, directed the design and imagery process, wrote all content, populated and formatted the site via its Content Management System (CMS), and optimized it for local search (SEO). ThomasBoston will implement additional search and social media marketing as next steps in the bakery's marketing agenda.
